How to Make Invisalign Fit Within Your Budget
November 1, 2019
You’ve been wanting to achieve a movie-star smile for a long time now, and all you really need to do is straighten your misaligned teeth. You might have heard of a fairly new method called Invisalign in Torrance. The main problem is, you’re not sure if you can afford the treatment. Continue reading below to learn all you need to know about how to fit Invisalign within your budget.
How Invisalign Works
Invisalign clear braces are semi-transparent plastic aligner trays that fit snugly over your teeth to correct smile flaws such as gaps, overcrowding, and bite alignment issues. First, your cosmetic dentist in Torrance will examine your pearly whites to make sure you’re a good candidate for the procedure. Then, the dentist will take digital x-rays and impressions of your bite to design your series of clear aligners.
You’ll be given a few series of aligners at a time, and switch to a new series every couple of weeks or so. You’ll be expected to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink, and perform your oral hygiene routine.
Is Invisalign Worth the Cost?
Yes, most definitely! Invisalign can correct multiple issues you may have with your smile, besides just cosmetic ones. If your teeth are overcrowded, gapped, or you have an overbite, underbite, or crossbite, it can be difficult to brush and floss your teeth. In addition, your dental hygienist may have a hard time giving your teeth the thorough cleaning you deserve at your checkups. As a result, plaque can build up and increase your risks of tooth decay and gum disease.
Having bite alignment issues can place undue pressure on your jaw joint, also known as your TMJ. This may result in unconscious teeth grinding or clenching, which speeds up everyday wear and tear on your tooth enamel and leaves you more susceptible to sensitivity and even cavities. Not to mention, it can really hurt!
How to Make Invisalign Affordable
The good news is that more and more insurance companies are willing to at least partially cover Invisalign treatment, meaning you won’t have to pay the full cost out-of-pocket. Check your policy to figure out what portion of the cost you would have to pay. There are also other financing options available through your dentist, such as CareCredit, which make treatment fit within your budget.
No matter how much you end up paying for Invisalign, it’s definitely worth the cost to have the healthy, beautiful smile you deserve.
